Pros and cons of STAT GrowthCharts Lite app for iPhone and iPad
STAT GrowthCharts Lite app good for
This program is a great FREE app that is useful for medical professionals working in pediatrics who like myself struggle using a growth chart.
The version I used before did not calculate BMI percentiles, so I needed to use another app to do so. Now that its one stop for height, weight, head circumference, and BMI percentiles, I dont need to use another app. Im very pleased with it now.
The only comment would be having the ability to calculate percentiles based on a chosen date. Currently, it only calculates based on todays date, or on an age (years and months), but this is a minor quibble. Graphing would be nice, but I can live with that being a pro feature.
Thanks for a useful and productive addition to my workflow!
Great app to figure out percentile on growth chart. It would be even better with a program to calculate energy and protein needs for the pediatric patient
Update: thank you for fixing the bug. Although I have applications to log my daughters growth data, I use this app and the WHO sister app for more trustworthy percentiles:-)
Old review: The program crashes every time I try to open it since the 2.1 update (I have the original iPhone)! Version 2.10 is bugged! Please update soon! I will update my rating, when I can use it again... [I just downloaded this to my wifes iPhone 4 and it works fine... Why does it crash on my original iPhone model?]
Some bad moments
What does the percent mean? Why do I only have a 40 something?
This app (at least the free version which is what I tried) has a ridiculous way of entering the childs age - you have to enter the birth date by using scroll wheels starting at the year 1 and scroll until you reach the year of the childs birth (e.g. 2010) advancing by 1 year at a time instead of putting in the individual digits of the year. In essence you have to scroll for 30-40 seconds just to get to the 21st century! Hope that isnt how the paid version works - but I dont think I want to spend $7.99 to find out. Free version also doesnt plot a graph although it will give you a %ile value. Not a very useful app unless you dont have an EHR or a
paper growth chart around to refer to.
I purchased the upgrade from the app several days ago. The only change is that the word "LITE" disappeared from the icon. I still cannot plot the data points. Yesterday, the charge appeared on my iTune account. Still no change. Come on!
Have not been able to enter more than one date, like others said. So, the reason I paid the $7.99 which is the ability to graph over time and follow Z-scores, which is critical for growth at the extremes is not there. Would love a refund. How does that work :)?
Worst ever lite version stupid if I could give it zero stars then I would but I cant so whatever
It lets me choose gender and enter a birthdate...and then freezes and shuts down. Crap app.
